A long-term immersion inside a sex offender rehabilitation program in an Italian prison. The film investigates masculinity, violence, and vulnerability through intimate observation. A work built almost entirely around out-of-focus imagery. The protagonists - a group of prisoners- are never shown “in focus.” The viewer is forced to imagine their faces, reconstructing them in their own mind. Because society tends to remove prisoners from its visual horizon, considering them “other,” the use of the blurred image forces the eye to perform an ethical act: to attempt to bring the human into focus in one’s own mind precisely where the frame refuses to do so.
A poetic exploration of landscape and human presence, created in dialogue with the great and unknown Italian director Franco Piavoli. In this essay film, I portrayed Franco Piavoli by choosing his home as the work’s only perimeter. Piavoli imagined and recreated the world while remaining within the tiny patch of land surrounding his house. In this work, the absence of the world becomes the world itself: an isolated microcosm capable of telling the story of the universe.

Through gestures and waiting, the film reveals faith as mass performance. A moment where devotion and spectacle briefly merge. A film that explores absence through an explicitly Beckettian structure. The Pope - the figure awaited by the entire community - acts as a contemporary Godot: he never appears on screen.His presence manifests itself only through the anticipation and desire of the bodies within the frame. At the precise moment when his arrival seems about to take place, the film end.
